Biography

I grew up in Santa Teresa and went to school there. Mrs Kathleen Wallace and Rachel Palmer were our art teachers when I was in Secondary school. I moved to Ti Tree for four years after I left school . I used to watch the women doing dot painting and that's when I started to paint. When I left Ti Tree I went to live with my sister at Garden Point on the Tiwi Islands north of Darwin. My brother-in-law worked in the pottery studio and my sister at Munupi Arts and Crafts. I worked at Munupi for two years and enrolled in a Certificate course in art and craft run by Batchelor College. I learned a lot from doing this course like screen printing, lino printing, pottery and other techniques. Some of my paintings have been reproduced as cards and I had a contract with Blue Moon Cards for five years. Now I live in Alice Springs and work at Irrkerlantye Arts.
